Modi Threatens to Take IPL Out of Jaipur
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Feb 17 2009

Perhaps waning thin on the controversies he finds himself embroiled in, Lalit Modi is now threatening to take IPL away from Jaipur.
Clearly there is a storm brewing in Jaipur. Greg Chappell packed in bags and left in a huff and Modi, the IPL Commissioner, has had enough.
Modi is claiming the politically motivated campaigns to oust him from the RCA (Rajasthan Cricket Association) President’s post has left him with little choice. He has threatened to shift the matches of the IPL originally scheduled to be played in Jaipur, the technical home town of the Rajasthan Royals team.
Modi has told the media that the IPL Governing Council(read the BCCI) has vested him with powers to unanimously take decisions to take the IPL matches out of Jaipur should the campaign against him continue. This is not dying down without a fight.
