Two of New Zealand’s brightest cricketers were caught breaking the rules during their stay in India with the New Zealand A team for the Buchi Babu Tournament.
Neil Broom and Aaron Redmond found themselves in a midst of a controversy after it was revealed that the two cricketers had broken curfew, bypassed security protocol to go visit a night spot, indulging in drinking and then, landing up in a police station.
Broom and Redmond had apparently decided to enjoy a night out that resulted in them creating a furore on the streets after they decided to end the night with some generosity by handing out cash to the poor on the streets in Chennai, causing the cops to take them to a police station.
Upon learning that the duo were foreign cricketers, the police took it upon themselves to hire a cab and send them back to the hotel. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) is said to have dealt the misdemeanours with both players issuing public statements of apology.
