I,John Buchanan, the former coach of Australia National Cricket Team and sacked coach of Kolkata Knight Riders, solemnly affirm that even though I have written the book, “The Future of Cricket–The Rise of Twenty20″, I would request all the readers that the literal meaning about what I have written about the Indian cricketers is totally different than what I actually mean.
You are supposed to read between the lines to get the real meaning. I also wash my hands off all the controversy which has arisen, in fact it does make good business sense and I am thankful for the free publicity but the comments about Indian players are taken out of context,I surely did not mean it when I said, Sachin (Tendulkar) is not fearless or innovative. I simply meant that Sachin, I know you are a great cricketer but above that you are a great human being so even though I write anything about you, you are like a decent soul who will not retaliate but I know writing anything about you will make my book popular in India, so there Mate.
Sourav (Ganguly) acts like a prince. Actually what I meant was how can a mere captain be treated like royalty whereas as the Coach, I am nowhere in picture. That is why I brought that multi captain theory, I knew it would be a failure but so what, at least it got Sourav off my back.
Yuvraj (Singh) walks away after training leaving all his gear and rubbish for someone else to pick up, whereas back home I have do my own work, there is no one to do things for me, not fair at all.
Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh) lights up the fire and than camouflages his actions,obviously I know that in the whole Indian cricket team it is only Bhajji who pay us back in the same coin, the more exchange of words, the more controversies so more free publicity.Ain’t I smart?
(Vijay) Mallya unsettles all. I meant that I am real thankful that I was not the coach of his Bangalore Team. He is not as easy going as Shahrukh and would have expected positive results which as you all know I am not capable of .
But the best of all is Shahrukh aKhan. After all you never know, he may just recall me.
