Old Gems Resurface: Chappell Plays It Up
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Sep 30 2008

Greg Chappell seems to have a motive or two up his sleeve. The fact that he rarely missed one point to rub has also meant that few Indians will remember that Tim Nielsen in the coach of the Australian team, not Chappell.
Chappell was pulling a leg or two when he stated he was providing the visitors Australians with information of weather, food and general conditions in India. But that would not be the end of it. While India is playing up the fact that Ricky Ponting has failed miserably in India with a meager average of twelve, the Australian skipper has found a spokesman in Chappell.
In a bid to either counter the criticism on Ponting or in trying to intimidate the Indian team, Chappell is stating rather vociferously that Ponting is now more ready than ever to redress the previously unimpressive numbers. He believes the Australian skipper is showing a hunger that will cost the Indians dearly. But whether the Indians will actually be intimidated by another Chappell bouncer or will have one of their own up their sleeve remains the fascinating part of the series.
