Putting the allegations of match fixing behind them, Pakistan will look to renew their cricket campaign with the series against New Zealand at Abu Dhabi.
The first ODI of the Pakistan New Zealand series in Abu Dhabi and Dubai gets underway with the Pakistan captain, Younis Khan, deciding that Pakistan will bat first. It marks the return of Pakistan to the cricket field since the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 semi final when they lost to the same opposition under controversial circumstances.
Exonerated and reinstated, Younis Khan will look to build on the Pakistan aura, especially against New Zealand who are without the injured Kyle Mills and James Franklin for this match. Daniel Vettori, the New Zealand captain, will be testing himself with the additional responsibility as coach as well.
