Just when the Pakistan cricketers were beginning to feel low about missing the IPL 3, they were handed hope. And just when they began to feel it, they were told the road is still far long.
Pakistan cricketers and even the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) were only beginning to express disappointment, frustration and anger when it was revealed that the Indian High Commission had indeed not denied visas to the Pakistan cricketers planning to take part in the IPL 3. But they were also not willing to take the blame for the delay.
This revelation and the fact that Umar Gul, Kamran Akmal, Misbah ul Haq and Sohail Tanvir have received visas has thrown a spanner in the works for the IPL, if the IPL Commissioner’s reaction is anything to go by.
The reason appears to be the fact that Pakistan’s missed deadlines have meant that the players will now have to wait for their chance to play because they must now through an auction round and even then, it will depend on the vacancies available within the respective teams.
