Pakistan in Turmoil 1: Abdul Qadir Resigns
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jun 9 2009

One would have thought that the defeat to England would have prompted a few rash decisions in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management. The first resignation has come, from Abdul Qadir.
Qadir, former Pakistan player and current chief of selectors, has quit from his post and the PCB is understood to have accepted his resignation.
Qadir stated that Pakistan’s forty-eight run defeat to England in the ICC World Twenty20 in England had nothing to do with the decision to quit from the post although he added that the defeat itself was disappointing.
Qadir was apparently unhappy over certain eventual selections within team management, with some alluding to the decision to pick Rao Iftikar in place of the injured Shoaib Akhtar who was apparently done in by genital warts.
Qadir felt that the respect deserving of the post was not forthcoming and therefore, was no longer interested in continuing in the post.
