PCB Finds No Sponsors for NZ Test Series; BCCI Finds No Takers for Indian Team!

Both neighbouring cricket boards seem to have a similar problem of finding sponsors though their cash revenues are very different.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the BCCI are facing similar issues that of finding sponsors.
While the PCB is struggling to find a title sponsor for the ongoing Test series in New Zealand, and it has meant a great loss of revenue for a board that is reportedly cash strapped, the BCCI is apparently unable to find a sponsor for the Indian team, the women’s team, the Under 19 team and the India A team.
As Sahara complete their contractual obligations, the BCCI has found no takers, which has even led to the deadline lapsing to submit tenders with a non refundable amount of Rs.5 lakh.
While the PCB will now have to shell out some remuneration to the New Zealand cricket board and settle for a part of the gate revenue, it is believed that the uncanny timing of the series, in the wee hours of the morning Pakistan time, failed to elicit interest from sponsors.
The BCCI may have to rethink the issue of the amount they would like to sell the sponsorship rights for, because perhaps the BCCI’s high expectations is the reason why companies are unwilling to part with their currency.
