Pollock omitted for the first test against Pakistan

Yet another inauspicious decision by South African cricket authorities for non-inclusion of Pollock for the first Test. It’s amazing how the African cricket board is working these days! — First, it was Kallis being slammed from World Twenty20 and now the dagger falls on Pollock, who has even flown all the way to Pakistan along with the team.

This also reminds me of the hard-hitting Klusener. Where’s he? May be, dumped off the cricketing world forever. Witnessing it on the darker side, the way the senior players are being treated such erroneous decisions might devastate the SA team.

Stunned by the decision the medium-fast seam bowler, Pollock said,

It is first time I have been dropped apart from fitness issues so it is disappointing because I know what I can still do and what my job is. But obviously no individual is bigger than South African cricket or the team and it is a decision of the captain and coach that I have to respect.

Though growing of age, Pollock still has at least 2 years left to perform at the highest level.

Last season, Pollock was man of the series twice and was up for nomination as best ODI and Test player at the recent ICC awards.

How could they judge his performance based on the World Twenty20 debacle, where Pollock struggled for form and pace!

Pollock is still worthy of a place in the test side owing to the experience, line and length, economy and ability to bat.

Indisputably, his absence will be felt on many fronts and with the test series being so short, SA would definitely go one down after the first test.
