Ponting Expresses Anger At CL T20 Final Delaying Personnel Matters

The Australia India ODI series has barely begun and Ponting is already drawing out the claws, perhaps for the right reasons though.
The Australian captain has expressed disappointment that three key members of the Australian squad were late in joining the rest of the members for the first ODI at Vadodara.
But it was not personal matters that held up Brett Lee, Nathan Hauritz and Doug Bollinger. Instead the trio were involved in the News South Wales Blues (NSW) match against the Trinidad and Tobago team in the Champions League Twenty20 final in Hyderabad just two days ago.
It meant that the trio joined the team only late Saturday evening after their match concluded very late on Friday night with the first ODI scheduled for the morning of Sunday.
Ponting was particularly irked by the timing of the Twenty20 tournament because it has meant that the three players had missed the team meeting prior to the ODI when he felt that all members should have been present.
Brett Lee pulled up with a sore elbow after bowling six overs in the match but Hauritz, the spinner, returned with good figures conceding just thirty-four runs in the nine overs that he bowled. However, Haurtiz did express that the tiredness was there but so was the inspiration to do well.
Ponting will have a few views on the subject and he will not be sitting silent should Lee not pass the fitness test for the second ODI.
