Ricky Ponting may have given the Australian captain of Australia’s Twenty20 but he is not giving up on Twenty20 yet.
The Australian captain, resting in the aftermath of the Ashes defeat, announced that he was relinquishing the captaincy of the Australian Twenty20 team.
However, Ponting insists he will keep his Twenty20 commitments on the domestic front, which includes the IPL engagement with the Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla owned Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Perhaps this starved hunger will result in more emphatic innings for KKR which have not seen a dynamite innings from the Australian captain in the 2008 IPL, and he did not play in the IPL 2 in South Africa in April-May this year.
