Ponting Wonders About Lord’s Reaction

Ricky Ponting cannot quite get over the reception he received at Lord’s in the second Test.
The Australian captain was quite stunned by the boos he was treated with at Lord’s in the second Test of the ongoing Ashes. Ponting was lost for an explanation and stated that the raucous crowd caught him by surprise at Lord’s where crowds are general more sedate and knowledgeably respectful of the game and its custodians.
Ponting put forth that perhaps the lack of warmth came his way because he was amongst the final few left of the Australian team that has humiliated the England team in the past. He even called it ‘pay time’.
One way or another, perhaps he should brace himself because the partisan crowd at Edgbaston for the third Test could get more boisterous given that England are now leading the series.
