Ponting Would Not Mind Sharing Captaincy
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Aug 27 2009

Ricky Ponting landed in Australia as only the second Australian captain after Billy Murdoch to lose the Ashes twice. However, he remains defiant, if not bitter, about the defeat.
The Australian captain stated that he would like to come back to England in 2013 to avenge the two defeats. However, he seems less concerned with the captain’s tag was attached to him then or not.
Immediately though he would not like to relinquish his Test captaincy, although he stated he would not mind if Michael Clarke was handed the reins of the one day internationals and Twenty20 captaincy. Although Cricket Australia have emphasized that they believe and have faith in Ponting’s leadership abilities, there have been many voices in Australia that have demanded his chopping.
The Australian team mates are certainly backing their captain for the moment.
