Indian President Pratibha Patil sent a congratulatory message to the team in which she expressed, “I congratulate all member of your team on the magnificent achievement of winning the just concluded Test series against New Zealand in New Zealand after a gap of 41 years. The nation is proud of this achievement. My hearty greetings to you and all members of your team and I wish Team India every success in future also.”
One can only hope India comes home triumphant more often and more sports in India receive this kind of encouragement to make India a true global sporting destination.
