Pressure Mounts in Pakistan After Sri Lanka Win Third ODI
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Aug 3 2009

Heads are likely to roll after the shamble that has been Pakistan’s tour to Sri Lanka.
Pakistan perhaps lost the third ODI more embarrassingly than they did the second ODI when they were dismissed for a paltry score.
Despite Umar Akmal’s sixty-six, Pakistan lost the third ODI at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium by six wickets. But it was a simply commanding performance by Sri Lanka that saw a 202 run partnership between century maker Mahela Jayawardene and Upul Tharanga for the first wicket, chasing 288.
If Pakistan made a mockery of their batting in the second ODI, their bowlers failed to hit the marks in the third ODI, as Pakistan captain, Younis Khan, blatantly put it.
There are reports that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is unhappy with the set up of Intikhab Alam as Pakistan’s coach and Yawar Saeed, the Pakistan team manager, who was found asleep during the second ODI, calling for younger management to complement the team.
