Big names, big money. Lots of promotion, advertisements, and very very little cricket time. That is how I would describe Indian Cricket. There have been many defeats and few wins, fewer players who choose to accept the responsibility and play well. But a few against so many!
Youngsters, when they start out, they are all enthusiastic about cricket - they eat, sleep, breath cricket, nothing else is important to them. Then what happens when they win fame - their names appear everyday in the papers, on news channels, become brand ambassadors. These are perks that an individual achieves when he has shown true love to a game that he plays for his country.
Yes you are playing for your country, you are obligated to give a good performance. Winning is not everything!
Life goes on, there are ups and downs, but giving a good performance - playing hard and being a good opponent to the other team is enough, I believe.
“Ladoge To Jeetoge” is the right attitude, If you fight you will win, but in fact watching the Indian team play is like seeing a disjointed individual trying to play a game of bat and ball with no coordination.
Here, it is not the individual, but the team that matters, which is sadly lacking. Decisions are taken on individual basis and taken keeping a team in mind, which has created disaster for “Team India”.
Please, we do not want the World Cup, but we certainly want you to put up a good fight like real Bengal Tigers and not paper tigers!
