Rohan Gavaskar Joins KKR; Ganguly to Play for Essex?

After quitting the Indian Cricket League (ICL), Sunil Gavaskar’s son will feature in the IPL.
Rohan Gavaskar was one amongst many who decided to quit the ICL after the ‘rebel’ Twenty20 league ran into trouble. Following BCCI’s amnesty, the players who joined but left the ICL have been given a chance to play mainstream cricket again for India.
Rohan, who turned up for the Bengal Ranji team, has now been signed on by the IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), along with Eklak Ahmed.
Rohan was never remotely successful as his father in establishing himself in the Indian team but the pursuit of his passion will now see him rub shoulders with Shah Rukh Khan in the IPL 3 season in 2010.
There are also reports that former Indian captain and reconfirmed captain of the KKR team, Sourav Ganguly is likely to sign up with Essex in their county hunt for the Twenty20 cup.
There were a few reports earlier of discord in the Bengal team with the captain, Manoj Tiwary, who is alleged to have hinted at Ganguly when referring to players who did not make way for grooming others but were using the opportunities to hone their own skills for the IPL.
