SA Eng ODI 4: England Storm Back with Anderson's Strikes
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Nov 30 2009

The series has been a bit of a see saw thus far as the fourth ODI between South Africa and touring England at Port Elizabeth saw South Africa turn tame in front of a James Anderson special.
It was the low after the high of Cape Town. South Africa struggled to bat through their overs as James Anderson picked five wickets in an extraordinary ten overs when he conceded just twenty-three runs and it was only fitting that for South Africa, runs came at a premium.
It was a day when Alviro Petersen showed great resolve once again to score a half century in a match where his compatriots did not even come close. While South African captain, Graeme Smith, later attributed it to the infancy of the team, missing its star in Jacques Kallis, it is quite apparent that inconsistency is a streak running through both teams.
Making just 119 in less than thirty-seven overs was not how the hosts saw it coming. But South Africa never really had the momentum once the game started and England then simply breezed past the modest target with a half century from Jonathan Trott in the opening position in a seventy-four run opening partnership he shared with the England captain, Andrew Strauss, as the South African bowlers found it hard to defend the target, completed by England in less than thirty-two overs to lead the series 2-1.
