Sachin Tendulkar: Not Going Away in a Hurry
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Aug 6 2009

Sachin Tendulkar is eyeing the 2011 World Cup and apparently, his appetite continues to be insatiable.
The Indian cricketer is setting the bar but only for himself. He hopes to continue at least to ensure that India wins the 2011 World Cup which will be co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh after Pakistan was dropping from the venue list post the terror attacks.
Tendulkar has responded rather in a dignified but pointed manner to some of the unkind remarks former Australian and Kolkata Knight Riders coach, John Buchanan, made in his controversial book, “The Future of Cricket: The Rise of Twenty20″. He stated that everyone was entitled to his opinion, he would not have survived so long in the international arena had he the flaws that Buchanan mentioned in his book.
The man who the late Sir Don Bradman stated closely resembled his style and technique of batting has also spoken about reaching 10,000 runs in the Test arena, stating that that was what was “dictated” to him by another great Indian batsman, Sunil Gavaskar.
Tall but not something that Tendulkar’s stature has stopped him from achieving before. The body though is another story. But Tendulkar appeared determined to overcome it all. He is not one of the greatest for nothing.
