Sharad Pawar Skips IPL 3 Opening Ceremony and Match
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Mar 13 2010

Sharad Pawar is set to miss the start of the 2010 IPL 3 season as the first match gets underway at the D.Y. Patil Stadium.
The Pawar led MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) is furious over the fact that they have been virtually ignored for the IPL 3 opening ceremony with the invites only filtering in after the IPL organizing committee got wind of the boycott.
Lalchand Rajput, the MCA secretary, conveyed the message that because matches were not being staged at the Wankhede Stadium, which is being renovated for the 2011 ICC World Cup, the IPL was ignoring the MCA and the Test cricketers who are normally invited for such tournaments.
Pawar is set to take over as the ICC President and Lalit Modi should perhaps broker a peace deal here as well after signing one with the NBA (National Broadcasters Association).
Modi may expect a showcase notice as well.
