Shoaib's Selection in T20 Draws Flak
Sreelata Yellamrazu | May 13 2009

Pakistan are facing other troubles other than losing the hosting rights to the 2011 World Cup. Shoaib Akhtar’s selection has not gone down well as far as the ICC World Twenty20 Championships in England is concerned.
Shoaib Akhtar’s dismal returns in the one day international matches against Australia in the UAE have made him a virtual non starter for the ICC’s latest world format for the shortest version of the game yet approved.
Yet his name continues to float despite the long list of controversies that have dogged his career and his age and fitness levels coming into serious scrutiny. With Pakistan in need of a revival, the popular cricketing opinion suggests that Akhtar’s selection defies logic.
