Fearfully Allan Donald’s warning thoughts on Sreesanth came true as the BCCI has handed Sreesanth a virtual send off.
The former South African fast bowler, also known as White Lighting, had spoken about how Sreesanth would have to mend his ways if he had to contemplate a long term career in cricket.
Sreesanth was seen in an ugly confrontation with Dhawal Kulkarni in the Irani Cup match and subsequently fined sixty per cent of his match fees for his verbal outburst.
The BCCI is not taking the issue lightly, sounding Sreesanth a final warning of code of conduct, the violation of which could see Sreesanth out of India’s domestic cricket.
Sreesanth’s career has gone as wayward as his bowling, controversies becoming more prominent than his heroics on the field. His jousts with Andre Nel are chronicles as are his constant rants with batsmen. Perhaps the most infamous one would have to be his slapgate scandal with Harbhajan Singh during the IPL season when the fiesty spinner, serving as stand in captain for Mumbai Indians, slapped the Kings XI Punjab bowler for what he believed was taunting that had reached the threshold.
While Sreesanth was mysteriously sent scot free will Bhajji suffered financially as well as banned from playing the rest of that season, Sreesanth will have nowhere to hide and no tears to garner sympathy should he overstep the line once more.
