Sreesanth may have become the Kerala cricket captain but it has not exonerated him from his wild ways.
After the final reprimand from the BCCI, the pace man has been warned by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) in what the KCA dubs as the final warning for Sreesanth to mend his ways.
Sreesanth raked the ire of the KCA when he failed to turn up for the conditioning camp for the Kerala team scheduled for 12th of October. However, the KCA has let him off with a final warning keeping in mind that he is the only Keralite to feature in the Indian team amongst the contemporaries.
However, their patience had apparently worn thin after he failed to show up following the NKP Salve Challenger Series and later stated, by an official of the KCA, to have fielded excuses about attending chief selector, Krishnamachari Srikkanth’s son, Aditya’s wedding after visiting Sabarimala. But even after not failing to show up as promised, the KCA had to apparently sit him down with a stern warning and the repercussions of ‘repeatedly violating the code of conduct’.
Sreesanth’s run ins against Sachin Tendulkar, with Harbhajan Singh during the IPL, against the Australians including Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds have been well chronicled and with even his mentor in England, Allan Donald, stating Sreesanth needed to mature to focus on a future in the game, Sreesanth had better wake up and smell the coffee.
