Srikkanth and Co Face first Blind Date

This is a blind date no less. While the Australians have been keeping their eyes wide open on this tour to India, the newly selected selectors are facing an initiation few would want to start their assignment with.
While the Australians are preparing in earnest, a couple of Indian players are still in the dark as to their own future including facing the Australians. But the selectors themselves will be facing a two- sided coin – if their moves comes off, they would have made a brilliant start. But if their decisions backfire, they could come in for some mockery too early into their job.
The selectors will sit down tomorrow as a single unit and decide upon the team composition for the first Test between India and Australia in Bangalore. But with the positions only been assigned to them, they face an arduous task. Not only in the subject of the senior players’ future in their hands but also, the difficult decision to blood youth where necessary.
It would have perhaps made sense for the outgoing selection committee to decide the composition before relinquishing their roles as so to give the new panel time to acclimatize. But it appears there is no time for trials or warm ups. Krishnamachari Srikkanth and his panel of four face a tricky situation that could either elevate them or reduce them to jokers.
India faces a rather difficult time with multiple transitions on the card sometime in the near future. How the selectors going about putting their best forward in ensuring that the team does not suffer from their inexperience will be a job that will be watched with keen interest when the selectors announce the team tomorrow.
