Stars ready to don Indian Cricket League cap
AMIT | Aug 22 2007

Despite refusal from their own board, Pakistan stars have decided to join Indian Cricket League (ICL). And leading from the front is none other than former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq.

The ICL has finally got air to breathe after several stars from Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, India have given their approval for joining the beleaguered league. Once, the BCCI didn’t approve Subash Chandra’s ICL, it was understood that time is going to be tough for the league, however, stars like Inzamam, Brian Lara, Abdul Razzak, Dinesh Mongia have become the saving grace for the league struggling to begin.

The ICL, chaired by former Indian great Kapil Dev, needed a booster after having faced criticism from world over especially from BCCI. Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting didn’t lag behind in snubbing the ICL. However, with stars coming into the league, future seems to blossom for it.

With the league offering a luring amount to players, it is hoped more players both from home and abroad will join the league giving it a boost indeed.
