Andrew Strauss, the England captain, is travelling to South Africa a little lighter in the absence of Andrew Flintoff but does not believe England have the answer to his replacement yet.
England’s tour to South Africa gets underway even as Flintoff, England’s hopeful all rounder, has moved to the warmer climes of Dubai where he is presently recuperating from a knee reconstruction surgery.
However, Strauss is less inclined to thrust on Stuart Broad the onus of being the replacement for Flintoff. Although Broad has shown all rounder abilities in abundance, Strauss believes Broad is coming into own, and his skills cannot be compared to his fellow England cricketer.
Broad will perhaps be required to wield the long handle of the bats as much as he can extract from his bowling as England head to South Africa for the series.
