First it was the buzz about Sreesanth’s diarrhoea. However, now it appears that Sreesanth is indeed suffering from the H1N1 Influenza virus, aka, Swine flu. And he may have passed it onto the team manager and more.
Sreesanth was missed in action in the first Twenty20 match as well and now it appears the team manager, Mayank Parekh, may have contracted it as well. Although Parekh has only been admitted as a precautionary measure, Sreesanth is being administered Tamiflu at the Fortis Hospital in Mohali, Chandigarh, the venue of the second Twenty20, and is expected to recover early from it. Rohit Sharma is said to be undergoing the same test as well although it is unclear why he is unavailable for this match. Ravindra Jadeja has been called in.
But irrespective of squad change, team India will have to pull up its socks, especially in the fielding department where too many costly misses allowed Sri Lanka to pile on the runs in the first match.
But it has been put his team mates in doubt and it is believed that the members of the touring team India team will be put to the test as well, not just by the Sri Lankans but also, for the disease as well.
