Team India’s victory had a euphoric effect on the selectors as well.
The Indian cricket team rode high on Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s scintillating century in the second ODI in Nagpur, the Orange City, to register a ninety-nine win on Australia in the seven match India Australia ODI series.
The win had a good effect on the selection panel headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth and it was decided that team selected for the first two ODIs would continue for the next two ODIs in Delhi and Mohali.
Showing faith in Praveen Kumar and believing in Harbhajan Singh’s match winning qualities against Australia, the team will wear the same look and perhaps the Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, may be tempted to continue with the same playing eleven as well going into the third ODI in New Delhi.
Another cliche to show - all is forgiven in victory, the knives come out in defeat.
