Sachin Tendulkar may not be the original, rather a hybrid!
He may be imparting his knowledge to the likes of Australian hopefuls such as Phillip Hughes and India’s own Suresh Raina. He may have been described by the late Sir Don Bradman himself as someone who was similar to him in batting style. But Tendulkar claims he is not an original.
Tendulkar spoke about how he consciously tried to imbibe two traits from two different individuals who inspired him.
He stated that he combined defense and ruthlessness and dare we say, it has been a deadly combination. He ascribes the defense to Sunil Gavaskar and the ruthless streak with which to beat opposition teams to West Indies’ great, Sir Vivian Richards.
Virender Sehwag spoke excitedly just days ago that he felt honoured that Tendulkar stated that Sehwag had a style that was very similar to Tendulkar. Of course it was not too difficult as Sehwag first emerged being dubbed as a Sachin close and caused quite a stir when the duo opened together in the ODIs.
