The sight of bloody fingers is enough to scare most fans, especially when it happens to someone the like of a Graeme Smith or Sachin Tendulkar. Not only did Tendulkar’s injury come after his forty-second Test century, it has also proved to be only a matter of a sore finger.
When Tendulkar pouched the catch off New Zealand’s Tim McIntosh safely, the team failed to notice his grimace even as they celebrated. But as it turned out, there was not too much damage apart from sore fingers.
But earlier in the day, Tendulkar was the focus of attention for scoring his forty-second Test and his commanding innings certainly gave Indian fans everywhere reason to celebrate despite the fact that it had come so early in the day.
Later Tendulkar dedicated his century at Seddon Park, Hamilton in the first Test to the cause of tiger conservation and he also stated that it was not an individual decision but rather it was the aim of the entire team to bring awareness about the cause of saving tigers.
