Tendulkar Says, Mumbai Does Not Belong To Maharashtra Alone

Throwing off political parties looking to gain vote banks by use divisive tactics, Sachin Tendulkar says Mumbai belongs to India, not just Maharashtra.
At a time when the MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena), taking its cue from the Shiv Sena, claims to be fighting for the cause of the Marathi speaking folk of the state by directing the State Bank of India to employ local candidates only, Tendulkar,a staunch Maharashtrian himself, has defended Mumbai’s cosmopolitan spirit in a newspaper.
Snubbing Raj Thackeray’s political stance, Sachin Tendulkar stated that while he was a proud Maharashtrian, he was an Indian above all and similarly the city of Mumbai, also known as the financial capital of India, was part of the greater picture of a nation than being isolated to only a few people and one state.
Tendulkar is perhaps the greatest unifying force of the country and the way he carries the nation on his sleeve, perhaps a few of the political men would learn the way of winning hearts of the nation from him.
