The BCCI has gone ahead and decided that India could miss a week off the break between the series against the West Indies and the Champions Trophy by participating in a tri series with Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
The ICC Meeting brought together the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board, the BCCI and the New Zealand Cricket board and in the midst of it, the marketing thought process suggested that the bilateral series where New Zealand are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka would receive greater interest from sponsors and spectators.
For all of Indian coach Gary Kirsten’s remarks about fatigue and Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s case for injuries, it appears there will be little respite after all.
