The inaugural World Cup of Twenty20 Cricket began yesterday in South Africa.
Twenty20 cricket - so named because matches are 20 overs per innings - is a relatively new version of the game and is starting to nestle itself alongside the five-day Test match and the 50 overs per side One Day International. Typically, a Twenty20 international match is considered no more than a warm-up and is tacked on before the start of a bilateral ODI series.
