Warne as Selector?
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jan 5 2009

If John Benaud has it his way, Shane Warne would be the selectors ensuring Australia get back to their heady ways.
John Benaud, a former cricketer and selector himself and brother of famous commentator and former Australian great Richie Benaud, wants either Andrew Hilditch, Jamie Cox or David Boon to vacate a seat in the Australian selection committee and make way for a more proactive, creative thinker like Shane Warne to head the affairs that involves selecting the eleven best players to represent Australia.
Andrew Hilditch was even criticized for spending time in his beach house in Adelaide instead of following the sequence of events at the stadium in Sydney.
In his opinion, the people on the present panel are too conservative to ring in changes whereas Warne would have more risk taking abilities with a shrewd eye on the nuances of the game.
If that position ever opens up for Warne, no doubt it would be as colourful as the rest of his cricketing saga thus far.
