Shane Warne is asking Cricket Australia to think between transition and stability and believes in sending in young blood rather than wait for more players to leave the stage.
The former Australia leg spinner, who led the All Stars Australian Cricketers Association (ACA) in a Twenty20 match, has asked the Australian board to rethink the issue of getting out of the transition phase in order to carry Australian cricket forward.
Watching the rankings drop for Australia in the Test series, Warne is wary of waiting for a couple more seniors to quit the stage and then, leave Australia to continue in that transitional phase. He would like to take the approach to induct young blood at the right time with the long term perspective in mind. Singling out Phillip Hughes, Moises Henriques and Steven Smith, Warne wants to bring in fresh legs with the old ones are still around rather than wait for positions to become vacant and then look for a suitable successor.
