Kevin Pietersen seems to be bent on mending every fence which he deliberately or inadvertently broke. Now he is all praises for the sacked England coach Peter Moores. He says that he does not have any problem with the coach personally and that he is a fantastic guy.
But there is a difference between personal and working life. With the team losing nearly every match on the Indian tour, it seems that problems cropped up and came to a head when Moores being a part of the selection panel did not consider Micheal Vaughan’s name for the Caribbean tour despite Kevin being keen to take him.
That seemed to be the last straw and Kevin who was a man of rigid principles when it came to the teams’ benefit shot an angry letter to the England Cricket Board stating his inability to work with Moores, the letter which was considered as an ultimatum by the ECB and which eventually resulted in forced resignation of Pietersen and sacking of Peter Moores.
Kevin is appreciative of the fact that Moores had only team’s victory at heart and he is passionate about it.
But even so Kevin is of the opinion that the combination of Pietersen and Moores was not the right one to push the team in the right direction.
So much has been said about the Peiterson and Moores fiasco, that Kevin finally had to come up with an explanation for his forced resignation, But the sacked coach Peter Moores is still maintaining a dignified silence.
Maybe even he is waiting for the right time.
