Wet Welcome For Test Series

England have braved the terrorists and their fears and returned to India. But with cricket looking to provide relief to the terror filled eyes glued to the news channels on the television set, perhaps the teams need to now bear the elements.
It was with good reason that venues like Ahmedabad and Mumbai were chosen for the India England Test series. However, the terror strikes in Mumbai put paid to that. Now with England requesting a southern state venue, the BCCI was left with little choice than to pick Chennai.
However, with the monsoon clouds still hovering thick over the south eastern coasts, players have had to deal with rain, wet weather conditions and their ilk. And the forecast is not good.
If weatherman can be trusted, it will rain all five days of the Test match beginning tomorrow!
As is the bane of weather reporters and discerning men of the met department, there are conflicting reports on when rain is likely to hit Chennai again after last week’s deluge. Assimilating all reports, it appears there will be no rain respite at all.
One can only hope (much against the wisdom of the weathermen whose careers may or may not be on the line) that the rain does stay away, and if it must, it will be at the end of the day!
