Australian Batsman Mark Waugh had ridiculed India’s defensive tactics saying these were ridiculous and boring. The shoe’s on the other foot now.
The former batsman has now become a commentator for the just ended series between Australia and India and as usual for every Australian cricketer, India bashing has become a fashion.
He accused India of playing a dreadful session of Test Match cricket which according to him was boring to watch. Now he must be repenting his words because according to him, India just wanted to end the match in a draw so as to capture the Border - Gavaskar trophy.
Harsh words, Mr. Waugh,now do you have any comments, when your Team Captain Ponting has admitted quite honestly that Indians played like champions. And surprisingly he praised the same very tactics, yes the same ridiculous and boring ones which killed the game which according to Waugh, caused the Australians to slow down “dramatically”. He said it was the turning point.
The candid confession of the Australian captain that they were not good enough and not patient enough must be an eyeopener.
Every Australian who is involved in tearing down India should take a lesson from Ponting. At least he has learnt to take his defeat sportingly, right Gilly?
