WI Bang T 2 Day 4: Bangladesh Win History Making Series
Sreelata Yellamrazu | Jul 21 2009

Bangladesh will be on a high. That is because with their second victory in the second Test at Grenada, they have beaten the hosts to record their first series victory away from home.
Stand in captain, Shakib Al Hasan, once again led the way, this time with the bat as he navigated through a precarious position to take Bangladesh firmly to victory.
West Indies could only manage a target of 215 runs, adding little from their overnight total and it gave Bangladesh a real opportunity after their win at Arnos Vale, St.Vincent.

But Bangladesh faltered in their chase, finding themselves at four down for sixty-seven, Darren Sammy once again striking twice. But thereafter, Shakib and Raqibul Hasan forged a tenacious and attacking partnership that got Bangladesh beyond danger point and into a zone where victory was theirs.
Raqibul was Sammy’s victim on sixty-five but Shakib stayed till the very end, missing his century, remaining unbeaten on ninety-six as Bangladesh rammed home to a historic win. Sammy’s contribution of five wickets could not save West Indies and captain Floyd Reifer the blushes.
