WI Bang T1 Preview: WI Names Replacement squad

The West Indies team for the first Test sounds like names that people have either not heard of or of those who were considered not good enough before.
Darren Sammy found a lot of supporters amongst the crowd for being left out of the ODI series against India. Now he gets his chance as the deputy to the captain in the first Test against Bangladesh. Floyd Reifer, who has played just four Tests between 1997 and 1999, has been handed the charge to lead the West Indian squad that includes plenty of new names as one scrolls down the list.
The players were seen practicing at Arnos Vale Stadium, St. Vincent, the venue for the first Test. Bangladesh has distanced itself from the controversy and are willing to go ahead despite West Indies fielding what can best be described as a second string squad.
Perhaps the most prominent name is that of Tino Best who left the West Indies team for the ICL and makes a comeback to the Test squad after five years.
The West Indies Cricket Board was forced to announce a team of replacements after the front line refused to play the match on the grounds that they had been playing without a contract and would no longer do so. Maybe this team can replicate the magic like in the movie “The Replacements” that featured Keanu Reeves and Gene Hackman.

WI replacement squad: Floyd Reifer, Omar Phillips, Dale Richards, Travis Dowlin, Chadwick Walton (wk), Darren Sammy, Kemar Roach, Ryan Austin, Tino Best, Kevin McClean, Nelon Pascal, Andre Creary, Nikita Miller, Kraigg Brathwaite, and David Bernard.
