The Woolmer death conundrum after swaying to and fro from natural death to murder and back to natural death is again pointing towards murder. Though, this time it is the friends and associates of the former Pakistan coach, who stand for a murder.
Former South African Captain Clive Rice, a close friend of Woolmer alleges that the death was not natural. He alleged that the Jamaican Police has been influenced by the bookies, who killed Woolmer. He laments that if the death was natural than why such a long process followed. He also stressed that had Woolmer died naturally, the pathologist need not have taken so long to identify. Ruing the swinging of statements by the Jamaican police, Rice questioned that initially all spoke of bruises on Woolmer’s body, poison and strangulation, but all of a sudden why this calm on such revelations?
Rice claims that after the sensational death of his friend Bob Woolmer, players and coaches today live under a fear that what happened to Woolmer could happen to them as well.
Feeling dissatisfied with the latest report pointing towards natural death, he claims that the knowledge that Bob Woolmer had of the bookies took his life.
However, no announcement has been made ever since the reports of natural death came on the front. The Jamaican Police Commissioner Lucius Thomas would make an official announcement of the same on Tuesday, demarcating the results of postmortems, toxicology tests and other investigations conducted into death mystery.
Will former Bob Woolmer get justice? Is the announcement to be made on Tuesday, true? Will the culprits, if any, behind the death or murder be punished? These questions have kept cricketing fans and followers of the game on their tenterhooks ever since Woolmer died.
