The stories surrounding Pakistan’s disappointing defeats against Sri Lanka get more and more bizarre with time. From domestic structure lapses, presence of bookies, the coach and team manager being labelled too old, now it is the turn of the Pakistan captain to take the rap.
Younis Khan is being blamed by many in Pakistan including former fast bowler, Sarfaraz Nawaz, that his misbehaviour with the Pakistan cricketers is affecting the cohesiveness within the team.
Younis Khan’s handling of the cricketers is being seen as less than appropriate for a captain and his dictator like attitude is not helping the team.
However, the Pakistan captain has come out to defend himself that he is far from being the dictator in the team and that he takes due cognizance of everyone’s views before arriving at decisions that affect the team.
Younis Khan called it quits to the Twenty20 captaincy despite Pakistan winning the ICC World Twenty20 in England and Shahid Afridi then became the obvious choice for captain.
