It appears that the swine flu is as contagious as another, that of fielding uncomfortable allegations against selections policy for the Indian cricket team.
In a startling outburst, Yousuf Pathan, star of young India and of the Rajasthan Royals, has blamed the Indian selectors indirectly for his brother being left out of present Indian team, including the probables for the ICC Champions Trophy.
Pathan was annoyed when queried about his brother, Irfan Pathan, and why he was left out of the team. He retorted that there were no valid reasons for Irfan to be made to sit out by the BCCI and that Irfan had done quite well to merit a place in his own right.
There were concerns in the recently concluded ICC World Twenty20 when Irfan Pathan was left despite the fact that Ishant Sharma looked completely out of sorts while Irfan was the one picking wickets and making a name for himself.
Now it appears Yousuf has leveled allegations against the Indian selectors. Unlike the situation with Vinod Kambli or Sourav Ganguly who recently made their own individual statements about their grievances with the board, Yousuf raised queries about Irfan that have been raised too frequently in the recent past. But will they take it silently?
