Mohammad Yousuf’s troubles time with the PCB continue. But this time they have involved a third party who is so unhappy that he intends to sue the PCB!
Pakistan’s former wicket keeper Moin Khan is not a happy man. His name has been dragged into the Yousuf-ICL spat with allegations that Moin Khan was the one who compelled Yousuf to take up the assignment with the ICL. Moin Khan is now suing the PCB for defamation of character to the tune of Us 1.3 million dollars or roughly 100 million Pakistan rupees in addition to demanding an apology within three days. He blames the PCB squarely for bringing his name unfairly into the picture. The PCB though has dismissed the allegations as having no merit and intend to look past Moin’s grouse with the board.
Yousuf’s troubles with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) began when he was dropped from the squad for the inaugural World Twenty20. That discontent was followed by a quick signing of agreements and cheques between Yousuf and the Indian Cricket League (ICL). However, the PCB managed to convince Yousuf to see the right of way with the promise of a lucrative IPL (Indian Premier League) contract.
However, matters of this nature are never that easy. The ICL took Yousuf to court and the matter stagnated there. In the meanwhile, Yousuf missed the IPL bus and his discontent has only grown by the day to the extent that after all this mayhem, Yousuf could well sign the contract back with the ICL, putting an end to his career with Pakistan and also, end to the deadlock as things stand today.
